Liquid Monkey

Liquid Monkey

"20 000 genes, 98% accordance man... is monkey.“

Liquid Monkey are glasses in a wooden look. By the use of an entirely new material - liquid wood - they provide an intelligent alternative to stop deforestation.

Liquid wood is an innovative material made by a mixture of lignin, wich is one of the main waste materials of the paper-industry, and wood fibers. It is entirely decomposable. The glasses are made of a three-part frame, two brass plates and six brass screws. The brass can be reused or recycled, while the plastics itself is decomposable. Its shape is inspired by the eye of eyes - the Mona monkey.

As liquid wood can be only processed by high pressure injection molding, all models are made by a mixture of polyurethane and sawdust, approaching the original material properties as much as possible.

Monkey is our origin and monkey is our timeless future.
